 The area around Panglao is fantastic for snorkeling. There is not only the House reef which is approx. 50 m away from Alona Beach but also many unspoiled snorkeling sites within a few minutes boat ride.
One of the best places is just outside Alona Beach and its called the Sanctuary. This site is protected and there are no boats or fisherman allowed to enter. The corals are unspoiled and there is a huge school of Makarels and Barracudas.
Another wonderful place is Balicasag Island, this Island is around 30 mins by Boat and there is a very good chance to see Turtles Barracudas and Makarels very close by. Balicasag is fantastic place to spend a day snorkeling.
This is only two snorkeling grounds we wanted to mention but if you need any further information Sun Divers will always be happy to give you the right advice where and when is the best place to be.

It would be too much to mention all the fish and kinds of corals we are lucky to have here in visayan sea. Thats why we only want to give you a short insight in some of the best dive sites around Alona Beach. In this description we dont want to exaggerate with Mantas and Whale sharks which we do have here occasionally but we want to mention the fish one is more likely to encounter on a particular site.
