endlich hab ich Zeit um in dein Gästebuch zu schreiben.

Mein erster Philippinen Urlaub hat mich direkt zu dir geführt - warum wohl? Jetzt weiss ich, dass es die beste Entscheidung war - mein Urlaub war perfekt......deine Tauchschule lässt keine Wünsche offen!! Ich kann jeden empfehlen zu Sun Divers zu kommen weil

* es gibt ein super tolles Service
* es ist sehr Familiär
* hier kommen auch erfahrene Taucher auf ihre KOSTEN
* die Sun-Divers Crew sehr kompetent und freundlich ist....

ich könnte noch eine Menge weiterer Gründe schreiben aber am bessten ist es ihr schaut es euch mal selber an - Worte können mein Urlaubsfeeling kaum wieder geben....

Die Arbeit hat mich wieder aber nicht sehr lange am 6 August gehts zurück in die vielleicht Heimat ??? Ich freue mich schon wieder auf Philipp, Barry Aming und die ganze Crew und natürlich auch auf die Knoblauchbutter von Rose und auf meinen kleinen Freund Dr. Kevin der rasende Wirbelwind.
Ich grüße hier auch alle mit denen ich tauchen war, mein 3 Berliner meine Schweizer und natürlich Bettina, ich hoffe wir sehen uns alle einmal wieder natürlich bei SUNDIVER

Hier die ultimative Ansage an alle Diver: - wenn ihr super tauchen wollt, eine sehr gute Crew sucht, euch um nichts kümmern möchtet - aber maximale Ansprüche und dazu noch Spaß haben wollt, dann seid ihr bei den SunDivern richtig.

nun sind wir auch schon 4 Tage wieder daheim und können es immer noch nicht fassen! Es war der tollste Urlaub, den wir je gemacht haben!!! Und wir haben schon einige tolle (Tauch-)Urlaube gemacht! Einen solchen Service und eine solch warme menschliche Betreuung sind uns noch nirgends begegnet!

Zuhause angekommen, wolten wir unser Equipment waschen ... und haben festgestellt, dass das gar nicht mehr nötig ist! Der Wahnsinn, auch das habt ihr schon für uns erledigt!!!

Schnallt euch alle an: wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder! Und dann in Mannschaftsstärke!

Danke lieber PHILIPP das du meine 5 Urlaubswochen unvergesslich gemacht hast.....ich träume noch sehr oft von den perfekt geplanten Ausflügen und den unvergesslichen BBQ´s und natürlich auch von so manchen Gästen!!!??

Heuer hatte ich das Glück mit Stefan M. einen Schnuppertauchgang machen zu können - super Erklärungen - sehr gute Einführung.....ist jedem zu empfehlen der zu euch kommt.

die besonders schönen Dinge des Lebens unterbricht man nur ungern. Doch auch mich hat der normale Wahnsinn in Deutschland viel zu früh wieder erreicht.

Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle für eine Traumwoche bedanken. Von Beginn an habe ich mich wie in einer Familie aufgenommen gefühlt. Alles war mit einer Herzlichkeit und Leiderschaft gelebt, dass es einfach eine Freude war, mit dabei gewesen zu sein. Panglao ist für alle, die diese Insel mit ihren herrlichen Dive-Spots noch nicht kennen, ein absolutes muss. Ganz abgesehen von den ungegrenzten Möglichkeiten an Land.

Eure Tauchbasis ist ja wohl "der Traum auf Erden" - wir haben uns noch niemals soooo wohl gefühlt! Vom 22.04.-13.05.07 waren wir mit Euch in der Unterwasserwelt noch niemals so gut aufgehoben - tolle Guides, die man auch unbedingt braucht als Anfänger auf den Phils (Barry, Aming, Ninoy), um auch das kleinste Lebewesen zu entdecken.

Die ruhigsten Tauchgänge (trotz mancher Strömung), die ich je gehabt habe waren vereint mit tollen Schnorchelgängen und Erholung pur an Bord von Birgit. Ihr seid auf alle Wünsche und Gedanken immer eingegangen, Vorschläge für den nächsten Tag wurden kreativst umgesetzt (haben noch nie vorher ein Barbeque an Bord eines Tauchbootes gehabt !!!).

Wie sollen wir jemals wieder woanders tauchen können, wenn Ihr uns einfach alles Unbequeme abgenommen habt (Ausrüstung tragen, auswaschen, vorbereiten etc.) - Ihr habt uns einfach nur Zeit für das Schöne gelassen .... und das verlangt nach meeeehhhr!

Wir kommen wieder - und jeder, der auf Panglao NICHT mit Euch taucht oder schnorchelt, ist selbst schuld.
Zu diesem tollen Urlaubsfeeling haben natürlich auch die Mit-Taucher beigetragen, die allesamt einfach nur genial waren (und da haben wir schon schon Anderes erlebt).

Wir bleiben in Kontakt und wünschen Euch Allen einfach nur ein "BLEIBT SO" und liebste Grüße aus Deutschland.

Nach dem wir wieder in Deutschland waren riss der Kontakt zu Phillip nie ab, ständig waren wir mit den Sun Divers in Kontakt – ebenfalls ein Novum das wir noch nie erlebt hatten. Aus „Sehnsucht“ die mittlerweile zu Freunden gewordene Crew der Sun Divers wiederzusehen ,entschlossen wir uns im März 2007 nochmals 2 Wochen Bei Phillip und unserem Dive „God“ Barry zu verbringen. Somit wurden wir zum ersten Mal in unserem Leben zu Wiederholungstätern!

Vorab das Fazit: Es war ein Traum! Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir bereits empfangen als wären wir erst ein paar Tage weggewesen (von herzlichen Umarmungen bis hin zu vorgezogenen Dekobier war alles dabei). Bereits nach ein paar Tagen konnte wir feststellen, dass Phillip seinen perfekten Service noch weiter ausgebaut hat. Hierbei sind nicht nur die tollen neuen Boote zu erwähnen, sondern auch die Perfektion des Services bis hin zu sympathischen, aufmerksamen und vor allem noch interssierten Dive-Guides (Barry – we love u:)

Die einzige „Aufgabe“ die man bei Phillip als Taucher noch hat, ist ein Equipment-Check – alles anderen ist bereits organisiert und zusammengebaut. Während man spannende Tauchgänge bei Snake Island und Pamilacan genießt, wird in der Zwischenzeit ein fantastischen Barbecue (in Fachkreisen „schöne Grillerei“ genannt) hervorgezaubert. Insgesamt werden einem bei den Sun Divers die Wünsche fast schon von den „Augen abgelesen“ – egal ob man nun zu den wohl schönsten Spots wie Balicasag oder Cabilao möchte – Phillip macht es möglich.

Bereits in Vorfeld hatten wir uns entschlossen, unseren Nitrox-Kurs bei Phillip Zu absolvieren. Für alle Interessierten, die noch Kurse machen wollen:
Macht diese bei den Sun Divers bei Phillip! Neben dem sorgfältigen und präzisen Vorgehen von Phillip „leben“ seine Kurse von seinem fundierten Wissen und Verständnis für das Tauchen. Wir haben uns somit auch bei unserem Kurs perfekt aufgehoben gefühlt. Also Phillip – großes Lob für den Kurs und den anschaulichen Erfahrungsberichten!

Letztendlich wollen wir uns nochmals bei der gesamten Sun-Divers Crew Und im Besonderen bei Phillip und Barry für die beiden Wochen bedanken, und wir sind uns jetzt schon sicher, dass wir sicher nicht das letzte mal bei euch waren.

Wie sagt man so schön: Das war ganz großes Tennis!

As “repeated offenders” we are willingly writing into your guestbook. Even though it was our second visit, Panglao and its dive sites still had plenty to offer. Your service is really unsurpassable – as always. To you all: A big compliment and an even bigger thank you!

The dives (this time finally snakeisland!) but also Balicasag etc. were just great. We really enjoyed the “cabinet of curiosities” with all the different ghostpipefish, frogfish, leaffish, the unique snails, but also the barracudas, the turtles etc.

The beach barbeque was a beautiful and familial farewell. You cannot find something like this anywhere else. (at this point: a late HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Richard Vernon!!! PS Thanks for the pictures, they are great!)

Thank you too for the wonderful surprise that we met Renate and Köbi from Burma. You didn’t spill the beans. Warm regards to you guys too! We will soon meet again for our picture hangout in Stallikon …

We arrived safely in Switzerland and have already adjusted to daily life. However, we are thinking back with a smile to the wonderful time which we spent with, and thanks to, you. Due to your friendly manner, the great service and the amazing dives, we could enjoy every single day of our holidays to the fullest; and we have had the most relaxing time ever.

Since we had already spent time on the Maledives, Indonesia, Thailand, etc., and since we had heard different things about the Philippines, we were rather sceptical in the beginning. However, since we wanted to visit Philipp, whom we had met in Thailand in 2005, we decided to spend our holidays in Panglao. Our expectations were more than exceeded. A perfectly organised diving basis with a team which responded to all of their guests’ wishes. Beautiful dive sites with a variety of fish and sound reefs. Beautiful and neat accomodation (Sun Apartelle). What else can you wish for?

Philipp – it was great seeing you again and to meet your great team and your family. We are convinced that we will meet again!

Unfortunately, we have not had time before to say thank you. We have visited you twice already and have become addicted to your jovial and secure atmosphere.

We have been to several places in this world, but we haven’t encountered a place where everything was so consistent, from the service to the absolutely communicative atmosphere with great people that come back every year.

You and your team are perfectly coordinated and the guests are benefiting from it, and that’s why you have got so many “repeated offenders”!!!!! Your activities with the guests have no rival, if it were not for you, we would never have been able to find these wonderful spots.

So, please, just stay the way you are and the two of us are definietly coming back in June.

Well, every time, I see or think about diving, first thing which comes to my mind are the very nice people from Sun-Divers and the fantastic time back in June and July 06.

Unfortunately, we have come back to cold Tyrol, and with melancholy we are thinking back. We were in good hands during our three week at Sun-Divers. Even Monika, who was not allowed to dive, felt at ease and was admitted to the group freely.

Philipp was of help with words and deeds, any hour of the day. The entire diving team was just great. When we arrived in the morning, everything was already stowed on the boat. The entire equipment was mounted and ready for the first dive. (I have been to many diving bases in the world, but this service was simply incredible). In the afternoon, after coming back, no hauling, no washing, everything was done by the diving basis (complete holidays).

The dive sites are well worth seeing, there is always something new to discover. Not to forget, the deco-beer, or lemonade, after the dive on the basis, nice gatherings and hours of talking shop. Sometimes even a dinner with diving friends and Philipp with his family. All in all a great diving basis with heart and brains.

Not to forget our accommodation, five minutes from the basis, a small but very comfortable resort. We have felt very comfortable at the pool and the bar. There you can get the best capuccinono of the entire beach. The Mondseelandresort is highly recommendable, if you want to have some peace and quite and relax.

We already know by now, if everything goes well, where we are going to spend our next holiday. Of course at Philipps and the Mondseelandresort.

Our friends are on the Philippines and we must go there too. Thanks to the Sundivers team, we really have enjoyed our holidays.

From day one, you don’t feel like a customer, but rather like a member of a big family that grows every day. The professional diving support is followed by help and advice concerning personal matters, for example health problems, holiday plans, taxi etc. Thus, it happens that the well-deserved vacation passes in a flash. But we are not sad, since the beautiful pictures often remind us what a wonderful and fun time we had and, more importantly, since we are coming back next year.

Since we were of two minds about learning to dive, we thought it was great that we were able to take a taster lesson in the pool. Since we were keen on the matter  we immediately decided to take the complete OWD course.

Herewith, we want to mention in particular the competent and ample support of the diving school owner (many greetings Philipp). Great emphasis was put on the quality of our training; and of course we have to mention the unmistakable congeniality of an Austrian blithe spirit.

Already at six in the morning, Philipp was up and awake and supported us with advice, eg about where to find the best bakery. And even after work, the “Ösi” was in for a dinner at the Italian restaurant.

All this has made the time on Panglao an unforgettable experience for us.

Kind regards again to the entire diving school team, which was part of the perfect organisation at SunDivers.

We were immediately warmly welcomed by Philipp and invited into the family. In the morning we started at 9.30 and we had a coffee on the basis before setting off - we didn’t have to bother with the preparations. The guides had already brought the tanks and the personal equipment aboard. Philipp himself drove us to the beach and from there we boarded the new diving boat. Just great! Everything had already been mounted and stowed away. Then we went to the dive sites. Some were right on the doorstep, and we could have lunch on the beach. When we went back on the boat, the tanks had already been replaced by the crew. Perfect holidays!!! We could absolutely concentrate on the basics – the diving, and could hang out between the dives.

For the most part, we came back in the afternoon and were picked up by Philipp. However, we often stayed on the beach, enjoyed the sun, and walked back to the apartment. It was only a ten minutes walk. Often we hung out in front of the diving basis. The equipment was brought to the basis and cleaned by the guides.

We especially enjoyed our daytrip to Pamilacan. In addition to the dive we had a great barbecue and an island tour, which was guided by Barry. We also had incredible dives at Balicasag and Capilao.

Our group was guided by the diveguide Aming. He had it down pat and could show us a lot of small animals. I could also entrust my wife to him without worrying (of course only for diving). She didn’t have much diving experience and had to get used to the occasional currents. Aming attended to everything perfectly and brought the first members of the group to the surface separately. There, the divers were picked up by the boat immediately.

I am a PADI Instructor myself and have visited many diving bases in this world. But I have never experienced such a readiness to help. Every job was lifted from our shoulders. Also security was a very important issue.

It was a great holiday and definitely worth the long flight. Greetings to Philipp, Barry, Aming and the entire crew.

So, unfortunately our three months, which we spent with you, are already over and we would like to thank you, Philipp and the Sun Divers’ entire team, for an unforgettable time-out.

With your perfect team, dear Philipp, you managed to answer many questions perfectly and you designed the Dive Master training so proficiently, that even the studying was great fun…

Unfortunately, the best of times always passes too quickly and we had to return to our everyday working lives … but after such a perfect – fun – very familial – successful time, we are definitely coming back next year in order to visit you Philipp, Rosi, Kevin and your entire team ….

Herewith, we’d like to say “Thank you” once more for a superb diving holiday. We have never experienced anything so easy and relaxed.

The price-performance ratio was absolutely great and we didn’t feel like customers, but like friends, and through the familial atmosphere we immediately felt admitted to the diving community. We will recommend you and definitely show up in Alona again some day.

Even before I started my holiday, I knew that I would make my diving licence at Sun Divers, since I had email contact with Philipp, who advised me concerning my holiday plans, and felt in good hands.

The diving school is equipped with the latest equipment and, more importantly, with absolutely competent and flexible staff members. Not even once, during my training to become an Open Water Diver, did I feel insecure or insufficiently informed.

Both, the theoretical lessons, as well as the pool dives, were great fun, the first dive in open water was incredible and it became better and better every time!!! I especially enjoyed the small groups, so that every member was attended to. Otherwise, I would never have seen the Turtles, Lionfish and even Ghostpipefish.

Above water, the Philippines are a paradise, but underwater they are simply beyond description.

At this point, I would like to thank you for an incredibly great time, underwater, as well as above water, with Philipp, Barry, Andy and the entire crew.

Thank you very much for EVERYTHING. The cool event hints, lunch and dinner, deco beer, the many patient explanations and the continuously changing dive spots.

We would like to thank you for a heavenly holiday on the Philippines. We were totally enthusiastic about your great service and the very personal atmosphere of your basis.

All the time we felt that we were in good hands. The dive sites were diversified, and your combination of the diving groups was perfect. Thus, we were able to enjoy every single dive. The organisation in your team worked perfectly. Not even once did we have to bother with the preparations for the dives.

The divers of other bases – directly on the beach – had a much harder time!!!! ;))

Back again in snowy Tyrol, I miss paddling in the 29 degree aquarium.

Thank you very much again for the warm welcome and the great organisation of the dives, special greetings to Andi, Barry and Aming, since it really was a dream vacation on the Philippines. I am looking forward to the upcoming fall (maybe with a trip to Camiguin).

The guidance and support at Visayas Divers in Moalboal/Pangsama Beach (I have been to Pesquador Island twice) was okay, too, but by far not as professional as it is in your diving school.

I will send you a CD with photos, and the trip to Moalboal was worth the trouble – especially the canyoning tour Muntilano River / Kawasan Falls.

In the time between 19.11. – 04.12.06 we were your guests and we would like to thank you for the beautiful dives, as well as for the birthday-pool-surprise-party for Monika.

We felt very comfortable when staying with you. We thought it was great that you always tried to respond to your guests’ wishes, so that everyone had great experiences during their dives. Also the obligatory deco beer, the hanging out, and the shared meals on the beach at night with your guests showed, that it was not just us who enjoyed the company.

It is not a given that the basis management has such a good connection to its guests. Even when I am in danger of repeating myself: “Philipp, you are a great guy!” We wish you all the best and hope to see you again some day.

I would like to thank you for an amazing holiday on the Philippines. At first, I was a little sceptical to go to the Philippines in the first place, since they are not so touristically developed, but this turned out to be the biggest advantage.

I booked my holiday in the resort “Sun Apartelle”, which has big and comfortable rooms. I was really lucky that the diving school was right at the resort.

I have been to several diving schools all over the world (Australia, Mexico, Thailand etc.), but this service was definitely the best ever. You can see immediately that the welfare of the customer has top priority. I didn’t have to bother with anything …. no hauling of equipment and no inconvenient walks to the boat. Everything was organised perfectly.

The dive area is manifold. The house reef was only a few minutes away. Of course we also took tours to the surrounding islands. That’s what the Philippines are well-known for. Talking of surrounding islands: the bbq was just great! Also, our dive guide Barry has an unerring eye, that’s not the only reason he is called Chicken-Barry (every blind chicken…), he also owns a bbq-chicken-stall right in the jungle where we hung out at night.

Philipp, I swear to god, when your second boat is ready, I am definitely coming back. I would like to thank the crew once more for this wonderful holiday.

Once Alona Beach, Alona Beach forever. Please tell everyone I said hi. Keep it up and you’ll see that your professionalism and your efforts will turn to account!

Warm regards from cold Switzerland! The past 2 diving weeks were just great for my two girls and me!! You took good care of us, the equipment was always prepared and adjusted, everything was carried around for us and cleaned etc. And the free UW camera for two weeks, because mine was drowned!

This service cannot be surpassed! Thank you for your wonderful patience with the two kids. Thanks to you, they really improved their diving and the three of us enjoyed it so much! Your individual service makes your diving school unique! The free internet access and the DVDs, the free motorcycle with Aming and Peter as island guides … all that was just awesome!

The jovial get-togethers at night with deco beer, the Robinson-Barbeques on the deserted beaches…. A holiday that must be repeated one day!!!!

Until we get back, say hello to the frogfish, the turtles, the seahorses, the jacks and all the wonderful slugs.

We chose Sun-Divers right away, because of all the positive accounts of other divers.

And we can just confirm this with deep conviction: The two of us absolved 25 dives and every single one demonstrated the big advantages of this dive-center. It started with the arrangement and the transport of the equipment: Everything had already been organised before even starting the day. Not to mention the perfect guidance and support during the dives.

An absolute advantage of this dive-center is that the guests’ wishes have top priority. Since we spent our holidays in the late-season, we were, more or less, the only divers. Nevertheless, we could visit our favourite dive spots every day, even though this was, due to the long distances, not always profitable for Philipp.

One of the major reasons that speaks for Sun-Divers is the personal contact.

So far, we have never experienced such a private and personal community like we did at Sun-Divers. Philipp, who has an extensive diving know-how, shares his interesting experiences and fulfils all his guests’ wishes.

And last but not least the dive guide Barry – nicknamed “Chicken-Barry”. The nicest and, so far, best dive guide we have ever had. He does not only see everything under water, he is also a kind-hearted person, with whom we loved to spent time– while diving, and also afterwards.

…. is a good decision. The diving school is a young and innovative diving basis, with a manager that is full of ideas. New and good equipment is available, since it has been opened only at the end of 2005. The latest first aid equipment is available and, hopefully, won’t have to be used too often.

The service is top class. The diving equipment is brought aboard and adjusted by the employees. The only thing you have to do is controlling the equipment. A defective o-ring was substituted immediately and additional plummets were always available.

At the end of a diving day, everything is transported to the basis, washed and put up in the drying room. Ventilation is possible. A more convenient service is utterly impossible. Since recently, you can also surf in the internet in the training room and work on your pictures on the computer. If you have problems, there is always someone to help you. Philipp is not only a good diver, he also knows his computer stuff.

You can dive either with the diving basis’ own new boat or, depending on the number of divers and the distance, with a big, rented banka. I have never experienced “herd diving”; on the contrary, if there were just beginners on the boat, I even got my own guide. Even if it was just me, we still went out. In this case, I went to my favourite spots with Barry. You can find all the descriptions of the diving spots in the Internet on the well-designed homepage. All guides and the service staff were always friendly and helpful.

This professionalism guarantees pure diving pleasure. At Sun-Divers, the “50 rule” is not valid – to stop after 50 minutes or 50 bar. Who has got Air left, can continue diving on the reef Top, take pictures and enjoy the atmosphere after the dive. All the divers and the non-divers (family members) really enjoyed the day trips to the other islands. Everybody got their money’s worth diving, snorkelling, barbequing and visiting the tourist spots. And the money was definitely worth it.

Finally I would like to make a personal remark. Many words cannot express, what an honest THANK YOU to EVERYONE for EVERYTHING can say.

I enjoyed 51 dives with you! We are definitely coming back!!!

By now, I have arrived in Germany and I have to admit that I am terribly homesick for Bohol and my fish and the small animals. During my stay of 6 ½ months, I experienced how you, Philipp, built up a truly professional diving basis, despite all the difficulties which you can possibly have on the Philippines.

Even when things didn’t run smoothly, you always had a smile on your face and motivated everyone, and your crew is well-attuned. I have been to Bohol several times and have tried out other diving bases, but I can just praise my experiences with you.

The service is unbeatable, the only thing you have to do is diving, everything else is organised and done by your crew. Thank you so much, and thanks to my special guide Barry, who showed me so much I hadn’t known.

I am coming back!! This is not a threat, but a promise.

Since I have already been back in Germany for two weeks and got back into daily routine, I think it is high time I wrote into your guestbook. This was my first holiday on the Philippines – but definitely not my last!

I was absolutely amazed when we arrived at Sun Apartelle. The accommodation is first class. The same applies to your basis. Small but mighty. This applies especially to the service.

I have never experienced that the guests do not have to help with the transport and the cleaning of the equipment. The dives were absolutely great. You could see everything, starting from the house reef with a small wreck and lots of small animals, to awesome precipices.

Unfortunately, I missed a whale shark at the house reef. I should have been snorkelling ;-))) Barry, your dive guide, does an absolutely amazing job. He doesn’t miss anything. Diving with him is great fun. The absolute highlight was the beach barbeque on Pamilacan. What you set up there was just amazing. Not to forget the tour to Bohol, which you organised. Keep it up and all guests will absolutely delight in it.

We arrived back home a few days ago and it is high time we wrote into your guestbook. This was the third time we have been to Alona, and the second time we have stayed at Sun Apartelle. The switch-over from other diving bases to you was definitely worth its weight in gold. 54 dives in three weeks – there is nothing to add to that.

Thanks to the arduous commitment of Barry, who, after so many years, still has an undeniable enthusiasm for his work, every single dive was a special experience. The boat crew was really nice. I have never experienced such a service. Thanks again, Peter.

Your flexibility and your enthusiasm set you apart from other diving bases. No big diving groups – familiar atmosphere. Great trip to Pamilacan with barbeque. You offer something besides diving.

Philipp, keep it up! Implement your ideas step by step. Thank you to the entire team. So far, Alona is the only place which we have been to several times. Even though more and more people come to Alona every year, we definitely have not been here for the last time. But also next time, it will only be with you!

Hurray, I have become part of the diving community! During my wanderings as a carpenter, I ended up on the Philippines. All in all, I have spent three months on Bohol.

Right across the b&b, in which I, a non-diver, lived, I found the Sun Divers diving basis. The diving basis had been opened a few months before. The motivated Austrian Philipp (owner of the basis) raised my interest in diving from day one. After our first coffee we jumped directly into the pool. Thus, the whole thing started ….

Diving with Philipp and his professional team was so much fun that I made the AOWD right after I had finished my OWD.

This had, of course, also to do with the awesome dive sites (corals, small animals at their best, wrecks …).

Another impressive experience was the whale shark, which we met on our way back from the island Balicasag and with which we snorkelled for five minutes.

It has to be mentioned that Sun Divers organises trips all the time and tries to respond to all their guests flexibly. E.g. the bbq on the paradisiacal island Bamilacan (at short notice for only 7 € - where can you find something like that?) We also had fun during our lunch break. We raced around with the new speed boat and the new tire (see photo).

All in all, I can say that I can just recommend this diving basis and that I am definitely coming back.

As always, time is flying when you are on holidays … and that’s how it was this time, too.

First of all, THANK YOU for the wonderful, uncountable, amusing hours which we were able to spend with you. Not to forget the stunning hours under water. Diving was definitely the icing on the cake of this holiday. (Thanks to Barry’s and Brigitte’s eyes for the “small things”).

We spent three weeks on Alona Beach and it was not the first, and definitely not the last time for us … now we have FINALLY found a diving basis which meets all our expectations. Great equipment, nice and uncomplicated people and atmosphere, perfect and very individual dives, and a congenial, international crew make an uncomplicated holiday even more fun, don’t they?

Now we have heaped enough praise on you, just one more thing, Philipp: Your idea about the “adventure tours” must definitely be expanded, just as you are planning to do! Thank you also for organising the island tour and the unforgettable bbq on the chocolate-box island Pamilacan. Keep it up; your entrepreneurial spirit is inspiring …. as is yours, Stefan ;-)

The time on the Philippines and with you in Panglao was the perfect treatment for my soul, relaxing, adventures, stimulation, a source of inspiration …. And yes, diving is great there, too.

I am definitely coming back. Until then I’ll have an eye on the trade mark “Torsten Special” at Trudis Place. Back in Germany, not only the weather is depressing the soul, but also the shoes are pinching. But there is hope: the planes leave on a daily schedule.

During our CNY holiday we spent Jan/Feb 06 on the Philippines. After extensive internet research, we decided to go to Bohol and Sun Divers, because we had never been to the Philippines and Bohol was described as a diving paradise – formerly Red Sea, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia.

We can just confirm the positive reports about Sun Divers and the dive sites. Sun Divers has very motivated, service oriented, nice staff, it is uncomplicated and well equipped. The diving boat is finished by now and Philipp has more plans, which he is putting into practice right now, or will definitely put into practice soon (expansion of the basis, training possibilities, boats for safaris, safety (diving buoy, ear flushing)… A small remark – even though Philipp claimed to account the cheapest solution, I think that he should account dives, which go beyond the 10 or 20 dive package, for a reduced price and not for the price of a single dive.

We had wonderful dives during which Barry, our guide, always looked after us perfectly. The boat crew was always supportive and friendly. Generally, the entire preparation and the hauling and putting the gear , and changing of tanks was done by Barry and the team. Food and drinks was rather scarce on the boats, so it is better to bring something along.

We lived at Sun Apartelle (www.sunapartelle.de), which has a high, European standard. There is also more nice, simple or high class, accommodation nearby, which offers more local color or is situated more quietly. Since Sun Divers / Sun Apartelle is not directly situated at the beach (ca. 300 m), which was not a nuisance at all, and since one can meet on the beach, it is no problem to live somewhere else. Right across there is a b&b (but no shower in the rooms), which we can recommend. We loved having breakfast there. Or the www.flowergarden-resort.com

Generally, we felt that Bohol/Panglao/Alona Beach was very beautiful and relaxing, rather too quiet and yet in its infancy – except for the karaoke enthusiasm of the Filipinos. Our favourite food venue is the Italian restaurant or the fresh bbq fish on the beach.

ATM machines seem to work only sporadically in Tagbilaran, we didn’t get any money and had to withdraw money with our credit card, of course at a high fee (7,5%). Thus, taking enough cash or traveller cheques is advisable.

On the diving basis, which is owned by the incredibly nice and humorous Carinthian Philipp, everything is brand new, the diving with Philipp is the merest pleasure, since he is able to see everything with his trained photographer eye. For underwater photographers (especially on the macro level), Alona Beach and its surroundings is paradise as such, with Sun Divers, however, it becomes even more paradisiacal.

In November, my wife and I spent two weeks on Panglao at the hotel Sun Apartelle. Beforehand, I had booked another diving school via “Tauchreisen Seebär”, because I had not known about Sun Divers at Sun Apartelle. Kindly, the travel agent rebooked me on the Sun Divers basis before starting our holidays, which definitely was not a mistake. The owner of the basis, Philipp, is a very nice Austrian, who, in his everyday life, is a carpenter like me, so immediately we were on the same wavelengths.

To the basis: everything is brand new and, as I could see, branded goods. I had brought my own equipment. Due to the opening, Philipp was a little more stressed than usual, but this had no impact on the diving, which is organised very well by guide Renato. Since the Basis is not directly on Alona Beach, you are driven to the beach by a mini bus (2 min drive). Naturally, the equipment is brought aboard and mounted beforehand. So, no hauling on your part. The transport back to the hotel works the same way. Diveguide Renato is a really nice guy, who always strives to show his guests as much as possible under water, which can take a little time in this dive area, due to the size of the objects. This brings me to another issue: don’t expect big fish. But the different slugs, angle fish, ghostpipefish, pygmies sea horses are not to be scoffed at.

Furthermore, the basis offers trips to Cabilao island, which offer an alternation to the closer dive sites. Also non-divers, who can snorkel at the site, are taken aboard. The diving groups are not bigger than 3-4 people.

All in all, the basis offers a top service, which will become even better, when Philipp gets his own boat.

I can just say, I have never in my life in one holiday absolved so many dives – it was like a drug.

The Austrian owner Philipp (together with his wife Rosie and son Kevin) manage their dive shop professionally but familiarly. New equipment and professional guidance make the whole thing work. Apart from hard and soft corals, which can be admired in a very good condition, you can also see pygmies sea horse (I hope I have spelled that correctly .

Philipp is building a new diving boat following his own design!!! And it definitely is a lot more ergonomic than the fishing boats with the uncomfortable entrance and exit, better convenience for the divers.

Philipp, I am wishing you all the best and many dive-addicted customers from the bottom of my heart!!!!
